The Difference Between VSL and Conventional Taxis

VSL (Vehicule Sanitaire Libre) is an alternative method of medical transport used for non-urgent transportation between care facilities or medical consultations, specifically designed to replace regular taxi rides used to move individuals with serious pathologies. The vehicle features its own engine and special equipment which serve to improve patient experiences during non-urgent trips.

VSL and taxis with regular cashiers all abide by similar hygiene, security and comfort standards, although there may be subtle variations in terms of how each mode operates. Therefore, it’s wise to learn about both modes before making reservations to ensure a seamless process.

Internally, VSL or taxi fares billed directly to health savings accounts are covered by Social Security; those paid for mobility aided car trips will not. In order to receive reimbursements, however, a valid PMT prescription must first be presented by your physician in order to claim your refunds.

Though there is an appreciable distinction between VSLs and conventional taxis in terms of size and capacity, both modes of transport serve perfectly to complement each other in terms of transportation for elderly people or persons with special needs; both also serve to take your children safely to hospitals, clinics, or doctors who specialize in pediatric care.
